The man is not as innocent as we thought. Disciples of Jesus are to be Drivers, not Passenger. As a passenger, you don’t have to worry about a lot of things. There's a lot of things that you can do since someone else is driving. You can enjoy the journey and is free to do as you please. As a driver, the steering wheel is in your hands and the lives of the passenger is your responsibility. You take ownership of the car. You have more responsibility. You cannot do as you anythig else but to drive.. Are we a driver or a passenger? Do we take responsibility and ownership of our lives like the driver? Or do we put the responsibility and blame on others when things go wrong, like the passenger? Luke 9:23-27 The Half-Hearted Kamikaze A disciple has to be different from the rest of the world. We cannot just be involved but not committed. Jesus wants disciples who are fully committed and not half-hearted. |
