God is still moving in our lives if only we obey Him. We don't want to just exist in this world or live for only ourselves. We want to make a difference and impact the lives around us. God wants us to make a difference.

Matthew 28:18

Proverbs 16:32

It's great to have power and control but if we cannot control ourselves, it is worth nothing. Conquering a city is nothing compared to  conquering the habits that enslave us.

1. Imposed discipline or self-discipline
Galatians 5:22-23

2 Peter 1:5-6
Self control is important to develop because we should not need people to keep telling uswhat to do and not to do.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27
What the athletes are winning are temporary, but what we are aiming for is permanent. We need to be ready anytime.

Proverbs 24:10 (NLT)
We need self-discipline to overcome challengers

2. What Aspect of Our Life to We Need to Discipline

We may have goals and dreams that we can never achieve because of our lack of discipline. Christian life is no difference. Being like Christ needs discipline. We avoid facing growth.

A) We Need to Discipline our Mind
2 Timothy 2:15
We need to present ourselves in a way people will feel confident when it comes to the Word of God.

B) We Need to Discipline our Moral character
1 Timothy 4:8
We need to train ourselves to have good moral.

C) We Need to Discipline Our Speech
No matter how self-discipline we are but if we cannot control our tongue, we will go astray

James 1:26
We don't discipline our tongue we can get in trouble.
James 3:2
Self-discipline to slander, gossip, etc.

Proverbs 29:11
When we are angry we should hold on to it, we should think first before we say anything.

It is a virtue when it is couled with discipine.

D) We Need Discipline in Arranging Our Priority
It's not that we don't understand what is important, we know what is more important. The problem is how we give the first place to these values. We are confronted by many things that take our time away. We need to select. We need to choose. All the choices are not wrong, but do we choose only for ourselves.

However, discipline is not the ultimate goal to achieve. Just having self-discipline is not enough to have a great relationship with God.

Having self-discipline does not mean we are right with God and we are better than others. It can eat in to our own pride.
