One of the wonders of the technical world is the internet. It is a usefull place to learn, explore and find something we need. I use the internet to find out about health, shopping bargains, maps, cliparts and even to book movie tickets. Through the internet information of any kind imagine can be shared. However this wonderful and powerful tool is also a place of abuse.Things that are illegal, morally corrupting and violent, can also be out there.  I grew up at middle class family. My father worked at construction industry; he is responsible and a workaholic person. He makes sure our financial stable and able to support daily provision. My mother is a housewife, take care of our needs and household chore. I got four siblings, my eldest brother, eldest sister, younger sister and I am the third.

I grew up at middle class family. My father worked at construction industry; he is responsible and a workaholic person. He makes sure our financial stable and able to support daily provision. My mother is a housewife, take care of our needs and household chore. I got four siblings, my eldest brother, eldest sister, younger sister and I am the third.
Since young I was not close with my eldest brother. Our relationship was not so pleasant. During my childhood time, we often fought, usually ended up with injured and hurt each other's feeling. He liked to bully me and made me angry. And, my parent always sided on him because of him excel academically. Then, gradually my brother took advantage to bully my sister as well. As a result, we began not to respect him and began also to give him cold shoulder and indirectly "rejected" him as a brother deep inside of our heart. I hated him very much. I also blame God for him letting me to go through all these. One day I was invited to attend church service. There, I listened to the speaker sharing about God. Later on, Christian offered me to study the bible and I agreed as I felt emptiness inside my heart. After finished studying the bible, I felt loved and belonged. I realized that there is someone named Jesus who loves me unconditional. I felt touched by His love. I had been longing for such love and I found it. My heart felt free and did not felt condemned, self-pity and hatred.  I know I can live a new life with God and future is in God's hand and that makes me feel secure. During that time also, I know I need to forgive my elder brother. It is hard but at the end I plucked out my courage to ask my elder brother to forgive me. I apologized my bad attitudes toward him and he accepted my forgiveness. It was my turning point of life. I am grateful to know God. Now, my brother and I can have a good talk. We can relate in sport, family matter, working life etc. Life is so release, if you choose to let go your burden. As the days went by, I still need to continue to learn more about Jesus' character. From him, I learn to handle difficult situation, to be forgiving and understand other people better. |
